Royals afraid of The Chaser boys.
« on: April 28, 2011, 07:44:38 PM »

Why do we have no thread about the travesty of Clarence House banning would-be royal wedding viewers from hearing a comedy commentary on BBC footage, as planned by the Chaser?

The royal family are public people whose extravagant lifestyles (7000 pound bar bills etc) are paid for by the public purse. The BBC is a publicly owned company, paid for by the public purse (as far as I know). So how come these overbred upper-class twits are allowed to call the shots?

Dom? Anyone? Why the big fucking silence?

*Edited to correct bar tab figure - it was 70,000 pounds, not 7000.

Because this issue was raised by a dashingly handsome young man over in SUOPC, discussed very briefly, and then forgotten.

I'm sure The Chaser would love it to be about them, but really, it's just a clause in a contract with all media organisations broadcasting the feed. Maybe you should be venting at ABC for broadcasting the event Mez? Why are you paying for this broadcast? It is clear that the ABC should not be broadcasting anything that does not have your approval.

Hey Aussies,

Please lighten up my life and publish the p*ss take on the royal wedding because the majority of Brits were bored about this about 1 minute after it was announced.  Publish it on utube or something, it will give us something decent to watch on telly tomorrow as they have given us all a day off.  Unfortunately it's April ( for those who don't know British weather, April is known for it's frequent rain storms - more frequent than we get throughout the year) - well planned I don't think.  So I don't think it's street parties or BBQ's.

Thank you

I doubt it, wouldn't have got so much coverage if that was true.

But, the BBC isn't going to let anyone use any footage, so by the time anyone can get anything together themselves, we'll all be pretending it didn't happen.

The Goodies had some good stuff involving the royals (which was on the fucking BBC), you might have to settle for that instead.  20-30 years old, but it's not like the monarchy has felt the need to update itself in any way since they renamed themselves the Windsors.

I just checked the SMH, it it has only 3 photos & articles about Wil & Kate on the front page. Only 3! That's it! Australia's royalty can do a lot better than that.

I'm talking about Warnie hooking up for a fling with Liz Hurley of course.

Sex and women seem frightening to you Thal; that's why you aren't getting any.

You need to get yourself a wingman, someone who makes you look good in comparison. Thal or Hammer would make ideal wingmen

For you to be frightening her off, wouldn't that mean that

Hang on, doesn't that mean there's nothing else wrong with me and that people do/would fancy me otherwise?  Nawww, thanks Nick. :-*

I think you may be extrapolating that too far.

I thought you said I'd make him look good. It's seriously tough being this good looking.

Then again, If he's seen with me, the chicks might think he's cool...
