We need a new word for ...
« on: March 10, 2011, 07:05:44 PM »

You get to fill in the blank for yourselves, but I think we need a new word for the underwear that women wear on their bottom halves.

Here at the forum we seem to have settled on undies, in preference to panties (shades of Benny Hill) or the equally cringe-worthy knickers.

So okay, undies it is, but it doesn't sound very sexy, does it?

What about a new word entirely?

But pants could be long pants, work pants, track pants ... ?  How about something different and catchy!

Have i told my british pants mixup story? I'm certain I have.

What's wrong with undies? Certainly much better than calling them 'panties' *shudder*

I call them knickers... Although I also agree that panties is only used by paedophiles.

'Undies' doesn't really help the cause when you are talking someone off.

I don't remember that one, but yeah, best not repeat it.

What's wrong with undies?

Yeah, it's a reasonable word, not too wanky.

I like 'panties'.

What about 'pantlets' or 'pantettes'?

I don't think I've heard it. Do tell, Bookster.

I like 'panties'.

I'm not surprised.

I thought of Trux and thought of moonyang cups, but really the word needs two syllables or less.  Pusspouch is actually quite cute.   :-)

Scanties? Or is that a trade name? I was (briefly) thinking about briefs, the word advertisers use. Scants?

We also need a new word for that moment when, having done something spectacularly stupid, you do something even more spectacularly stupid to divert people from the first one. I mean hey, we've all been there.  8-)

Sounds too much like a disease.
