Silvio trips over his wang... again

With 3 prosecutions now levelled against him can Silvio Berlusconi wriggle his way clear or is it the end of the Roman road for Western Europe's most corrupt politician.

I just love the fact that the cops thought "Ruby" was Mubarak's grand-daughter. Dumb arses.

Last time you were here, weren't you advocating punching him in the face with a Milan Cathedral fisticuf. Are you sympathising with a fellow philanderer?

I'd say he'd get away with it again.

Italian politics might seem exciting, but only in the same way as your team winning because the other team didn't bother to turn up.

I'd still like to punch him in the face for being a corrupt bastard. I am simply pointing out that our politicians look like a wagon full of Amish people off to a barn building by comparison. Our pollies are boring with their matching suits and glib, scripted, one line sound bites. I wish our politics were just as entertaining as Italian politics (but without the corruption).

I wonder who we have in Australian politics that would be the local equivalent of Silvio? Any suggestions?

Oh, for the record, I am not a philanderer.

Silvio is off to court to face charges of having sex with a minor amongst others.  He is not, however, being forced or even asked to stand down as Italian PM whilst the charges are pending in court. Imagine Julia Gillard being charged with illegal use of a double ender (I'll give her the benefit of the doubt but she probably has a penis) on a 17 year old and remaining in office until the case is finalised. It's inconceivable to anyone but the Italians.

I've recently just put through my Italian citizenship. I wonder if I'll be allowed to vote in the next election. If I did, I'd vote for him again just so he can keep world politics entertaining.

That's fair enough. You don't have to live in Italy and put up with his corrupt bullshit.

I'm also over 18 and know I'm now out of his preferences.

You're female and breathing so I think that makes you fair game.

Damn.

In all seriousness, the Italian political situation is fucked and has been for a long while. The fact that they haven't done anything about him could very well be disillusionment as much as anything else. Do they have that many great prospects were they to out him?

Don't they have anyone that they don't know for sure is corrupt?

What are you on about? There hasn't been a fist fight in parliament there in ages...
