Less ironic, more amusing. Especially if they were of a waspish persuasion.

"I'm sorry to say Mr. Schmidt, that your heinous acts have left this court no option but to impose the death penalty upon you. You will be taken from this place to another where your life will be forfeit by means of toxic gas. Take him down bailiff."
"All rise, the honourable Judge Weinberg has spoken"

I wonder if a Carlyle Group company makes gas chambers? That would be spooky wouldn't it

I wonder if there's ever been a Jewish judge who convicted somone of murder in the US and then sentenced them to die in the gas chamber?

That would be ironic wouldn't it.

Using an Alanis Morisette definition of irony, yes.  But that's still stretching things...if Books was eaten out by a Panthers supporter, is it ironic because Romans fed Christians to lions?

Doesn't that make it more ironic?

The man with the firearm who shot dead 6 people doesn't deserve our sympathy as a "victim" of American society. He's not. He's just a dickhead with a gun and a complex about the size of his wang.
Psycho-killers? I like mine medium rare.

I prefer mine on ice

As he may be, no death is more or less legitimate than any other.

Absolute rubbish. You kill someone without justification you deserve to die. End of story.

I assume Wolfe was drunk when he wrote that, as it is completely nonsensical.
