Hello!

I've found Chaser's WoE in imdb top, gave it a try and then totally loved it. It seems to me that i'm actually becoming a big fan of Aussie humour. First, i've discovered Shaun Micallef and then made russian subs for few episodes (needless to say, it had a great response ). But well, it appeared to me that there are no subtitles for Micallef P(r)ogram(me), so i had to make timing myself and, let me say, it's quite boring. Also some jokes were difficult to understand, it was a problem too.

Anyways, now i'd like to make translation for The Chaser's episodes, so i'm searching for WoE subtitles. I can't find any in Internet, though i've read on amazon that DVD contains it. Still, it's quite expensive for me, especially including shipping, so i wonder if anyone could rip subtitles from DVD and send me via e-mail or put them here

Well, yeah, nice place! Because.. first, i was asking for subtitles on ABC website. I wrote them that i'm not only going to make millions on selling their product but also want to spread the word and so on; and fortunately, they respond me with that very line you answered me! Well, after few months without any other e-mails from them i start thinking sometimes that it could be a sarcasm. But i can't know it for sure: it's hard to define sarcasm if you're born on a planet which don't have any.

Without any irony, i'm glad i found this forum, there are some interesting threads i've already read and maybe even more threads that i'll read later
And about piracy - yup, fair enough. Still, any help from those who are from Eastern Africa and have piracy as a hobby would be very appreciated (so as from any other groups of people)

No problems, I can help you out.  It's not quite Eastern Africa but I do commute to Nigeria on a regular basis.

I'm into this kind of thing, heck, it's how I make a living.  AND BEST OF ALL I have exactly the stuff you are looking for!!

Like you say, this is a great idea and I can see you making millions from this, I'm glad and happy all over that you're prepared to share it with me!!!

What I'd like to do is get the stuff to you immediately.  Unfortuneately, the law being what it is in Australia I have a few minor issues I need to deal with.  As such I will need you to send me a few dollars in order to grease some palms at the ABC to ensure you get the top qualiy product first time.

I don't trust some of the other posters on this forum (they're a bit goody goodyish) so if you could PM me I will send you the banking details of where to deposit the money so I can get you what you need.

I will investigate and get back to you but you must understand the urgency of the situation.  My contact inside Austrade who knows someone at the ABC who can get you the stuff from someone they know has an Uncle who just died who put the stuff into a safe deposit box and we need the funds from you to pay the box opening charge.  I don't think they take cracked pepper but I will check for you.

Oh crap. It's sad that i was bluffing about cracked pepper...

Now, seriously, can anyone really help me? Ripping subtitles it's not hard at all (using free software and guide like this) and won't take a lot of your time (won't it? i'm not quite sure, but i'd better say that it won't). But for me, translating whole episode is a matter of two hours or one evening. Both making timing and translating can take a week and kill all the interest to this work because it becomes boring enough then.

Again, the only thing i'm trying to achieve is to make WoE.. er... not popular, but.. let me say, available in russian internets, so people who are really interested in this kind of humour may know who The Chaser are. Purchasing DVDs is available only from ABC Store or Amazon, but it's expensive due to high shipping cost and shitty distribution system here (in fact, it's so shitty that i can't even buy "Blow Parade" episodes in iTunes because it's not working in Russia). So, it would be really nice if someone from those who have Chaser DVDs anyway could help me with that.

In either way, maybe i will sell my car for cracked pepper (fortunately, a lot of people are offering me that). Though it's much more possible that i just forget whole idea of translating WoE at all (not a bad idea, i guess). Still, begging for help in several posts is highly pathetic as my scale of pathetics says and if no one want or/and can help me, let me know, and i'll stop wasting our time with that question.
