Disgruntled Western Australian MasterChef viewers vow to not support Julia Gillard in tomorrow’s leadership challenge.

Wednesday 23rd June 2010

Channel Ten, Wednesday: Western Australian MasterChef viewers have responded with outrage to the interruption of the broadcast of the French Super Challenge tonight on Channel Ten'sMasterChef. The interruption was caused by the confirmation that Deputy Leader Julia Gillard had challenged Prime Minister Kevin Rudd’s leadership of the Labor party.

Footage of the press conference, which was shown on Channel 10 at the height of the dramatic climax of the night’s MasterChef challenge, ran for over ten minutes. Viewers allegedly grew more and more frustrated, and reports of flying loungeroom objects were investigated by authorities all over the Western state.

Program analysts have provided the public with mixed reviews on the impact that this interruption has had on the MasterChef concept as a whole. Some claim that the once-popular program has lost some support from the viewing masses, who are generally known to believe, among other things, that the 7pm Project is a valid news source.

“I didn’t know who Julia Gillard was before tonight’s interruption,” says one disgruntled MasterChef viewer. “And to be honest, I was much better off. I certainly won’t be supporting her if she turns up in Celebrity MasterChef later on in the year.”

Viewers claim that they don’t want to be educated about political developments, and believe that this is a right that they have been denied. Plans to lobby channel 10 to remove intrusive news updates are underway, having been drawn up by dissenters during the MasterChef ad breaks. Some viewers, however, are more confused than vigilante.

“We’re not really sure what happened,” claims another viewer. “One minute we were watching the green team fail miserably, and the next minute it was the Labor Party who were in the bottom two. We never expected it to be Kevin and Julia who ended up in the Elimination Challenge. I guess it all comes down to taste now.”

Kevin and Julia are set to face off in the Labor Party Kitchen at 7am tomorrow.

Well, she's proved she's up to cooking the books in the election challenge,
whereas kevin's attempt had left a distinctly sour taste in the mouths of all viewers
