The Channel nine presenter kept on referring to him as PM in the past tense :roll:

I didn't even realise they could do this. He won the last election and the public voted for him as leader. No one in the public has voted for Julia Gillard.

Eh...that's not quite the way it works, Msj...people from her electorate voted gillard in, just like people from Rudd's electorate voted him in...we don't get a say what happens internally...

No, that's correct. If Labor decides they don't want Rudd as leader, they have the discretion to elect/vote for someone else.

According to SMH just now:

Julia Gillard is to become Australia's first female prime minister after Kevin Rudd stood down as Labor leader at a caucus meeting this morning, according to caucus sources... It is understood Mr Rudd stood aside to avoid a humiliating defeat.

She will certainly have a lot more people voting for her than Rudd, and they're almost certainties to win the next election now, which shouldn't be too far away now!
