That was my point. Anyone with the most basic understanding of politics would already be well aware that politicians rarely tell the truth. All Abbott did was state a fact which is already known to be true. The failure of Rudd, Brown, Fielding etc to acknowledge that they do the same does not make them more trustworthy- but almost all the media reports I've read (and the comments posted in response to said articles) say the opposite. Gives a pretty good indication of who's going to get a clear run with the media at the election.
