Google is going to take over the world.

Google have been secretly collecting Wi-Fi data as they roam the streets for their Street View maps.

Apparently they could use it to pinpoint mobile phones to houses. Who knows, really. But it does seem a tad suss.

Although, if anyone was going to take over the world, I'd be happy with Google. Imagine it. They could build search engines into us all. Magical.

Well they certainly couldn't pinpoint anything to me.

I don't have Wi-Fi access at home...

What would they be collecting? That's a serious question btw...

This has been in the papers for the last 6 months. Why do you bring it up now? What's more, it's been far from secret. Google published a fairly thorough explanation in April after a bit of hoo-ha in Europe.

No one else has brought it up, so why not bring it up now? WE ARE GETTING CLOSER TO THE END OF THE WORLD IN 2012 EVERY DAY.
