I remember one 'friend' coming in, looking around with a nasty sneer, lip curled up in distaste, saying, "Maybe you should get a cleaner?"
She's no longer a friend.
I bet you're a brand-name whore. You have to have the 'right' car, the 'right' phone and live in the 'right' suburb. As you stated earlier, your precious sprog will go to the 'right' school, too.
Indeed, and I love it. The only difference is I can afford it and you're living in squalor.
However, the brands I choose are based on what they do for me, not what society says. I like Zegna suits, something I share with the most interesting Australian politician ever. And I like Mercedes - safety, speed, cool cachet rather than those trendy Audi Q7 truck like things that are "in" so you miss on that one, the right phone is an Android thing but I have an iPhone so you fail there as well, and the right suburb is correct because we have bugger all crime, nice views over the Harbour, great facilities and to be entirely frank bogans like you just don't make it here.
And yes, kids wil go to teh right schools, they will learn that Year 8 Italian may only be a basic language course but sometimes they have to suck it up and do things they don't like rather than being told they are precious petals who don't have to do what they don't want to and the world owes them a living. It's called discipline. You can condition your kids to accept the dole as an acceptable income, I will condition mine to achieve rather more than that.
If your friend is motivated to say you need a cleaner and you dumped her then clearly you're not as interested in the truth as you like to think.
