LAWBREAKING HERE!!!!!!
« on: February 02, 2010, 03:51:36 PM »

I am breaking the law right now by saying:

"Labor is going to win the SA election in March" - Adi, Forumville.

Fat fucking chance of policing this one. Ah, the lols - and the worryingness... but so many lols, 'cause they know not what they try to do...

Funnily enough, you could dob me in to my dearest Papa... but to do that, you'd need to know my real name and location! Bwahahahaa...

(let's just ignore the fact that you do)

SAliens are supposed to be thick, Booky, especially those concerned with censorship laws.  I'm sure there's a rule about that somewhere.

Supposed to scare people into being a little more nice in their comments.

Comments like "Mike Rann is a filthy whore", which would otherwise appear, may actually be absent if people are required to give their details.

Self censorship. That's all it is.

Wow, I remember in my younger days I used to make jokes about South Australians and think I was funny too.

But wouldn't that comment still be allowable because it's got nothing to do with election, it's just got to do with an opinion about a person...it doesn't mention an election in it.

But you still think you're funny...

There are already similar laws in some states concerning letters to the editor in newspapers, so I'd assume it'll just be applied to comments on newspaper websites and I guess other 'legitimate' media sources.

Are you saying you agree with this law then?

Looking at the legislation quoted in those articles (I'm too lazy to check the full text), it doesn't look like there's anywhere it specifies state elections. Does it apply to federal and council elections as well?

He's the Attorney General, of course he's involved in something like this, it's his job.

One would think any comment about the leader of a party is election related during an election campaign...opinion or not.

No, I'm not saying that at all.

I'll just ignore it, like I ignore most other ridiculous laws that serve no purpose. Like padestrian traffic signals.

i was referring to his stance on r rated games, cos we're all going to go on kill crazy rampages if we play violent games, this is another stupid thing he'd come up with.
