Then you have to go through numerous proceedings and other such things for the splitting of assets etc. For a de facto relationship it is much easier to just leave without any of that nonsense. What the hell? I cannot honestly see how you are arguing this. It's not going to be a clean split whether or not they have to spend a year separated or not. It is just not a massive show of dedication to get married. It is in fact irrelevent, whether or not a couple has got married or not. What matters is how the individuals are making the relationship works.
