Okay, so Kyle & Jackie O were running a thing on their show this morning where they had a 14 year old girl hooked up to a lie detector test. Her mother was in the studio, asking her questions.
Went something like this

Mother: Have you had sex?
Daughter: I've already told you the story, it's not funny. I got raped when I was 12 years old!
Kyle: Ok, so have you had experiences other than that?

Anyway so. People are having a go at Kyle for his response.
Sure, he would have been in shock, I totally understand that. But I do think he should have thought about it a bit more before he gave that remark.

The mother is also an IDIOT for putting her daughter on air for this sort of thing in the first place.

And seriously, what is the world coming to when running programs like this on air is how radio stations get their ratings?!

Well, I had my rant about this in TTAS yesterday. It's not entirely Kyle and Jackie's fault (although laughing at the girl's pain before the segment even started was cruel, I can see why people are outraged, the segment itself was fucked up) as they had no idea about the rape. The mother however, did.

Yeah as much as I hate Kyle, I don't think it was their fault. I mean, the mother apparently knew about it and still was going "have you had sex?"

Though i'm guessing the mum thought the kid made it up to get attention.....but even then, wouldn't you call the police/hospital, etc to get it checked out properly?? Then the kid could have gone, well sorry mum i made it up, or got some help.

So yeah its the mums fault, not the radio. She is an idiot.....

Well I am assuming that becasue she is a minor they had to ask the mum for permission. therefore if the mum KNEW already, why the hell did she still let it go ahead? Yes, it is a bit wrong, but apparently they did not know about the situation beforehand, yet THE MUM DID!!

The segment was stupid... but the mother, for sure. Weren't the mother and daughter supposed to get some tickets or money for it?

Anyway, if the girl already told her mum that she was raped, and her mother consented to this dumb segment, then it's totally the mother's fault.

Who knows? This could just have been a publicity stunt... as if they needed one anyway.
