'The ABC has withdrawn The Chaser's War on Everything from television for two weeks in the fallout from their skit about dying children this week.

ABC Managing Director Mark Scott announced the decision tonight after the furore surrounding the sketch, "Make A Realistic Wish", which went to air on Wednesday night.

The decision, made with the ABC's Director of Television, Kim Dalton, followed discussions with The Chaser team.

"We have decided that this is the most appropriate course of action," Mr Scott said.'

In response to the outrage over the "Make a Realistic Wish Foundation" skit, the War on Everything has been suspended for 2 weeks. So the PC brigade wins...pathetic.

If I merge the complaint threads, newcomers to the conversation (or Chaser member who might want something to do in the next 2 weeks) will have no idea what's going on because they sort themselves in chronological order of messages. Which means people will go over the same territory again and again. Merging early on works, later on = not so good.

I can merge any new ones, but I won't delete them because that would be censorship and give people reason to complain about lack of freedom of speech :-P

I feel sorry for people whose children have cancer. However, this does not mean that I will countenance the censorship of a funny, albeit thought provoking, comedy group.

I strongly disagree with the ABC's decision to ban the Chaser.
