The Constructive Criticism Thread
« on: May 31, 2009, 11:35:03 PM »

Mods/Admins, feel free to delete this topic if you think it's spam, or will start a flamewar.

However, instead of constantly feeling the need to bitch about The Chaser in other threads, why don't we have two threads to bitch in! :) Er I mean, contain it all in here...

Anyway I decided to start this thread when I saw this, and had no where else to put it...

Was on Dryburgh St in Melbourne.

Is it just me or is it unfunny considering they did the whole billboards thing last year?

Anyway, didn't want to start a topic solely devoted to a billboard, when so many other criticisms can be discussed as well...

Also, I would like to dedicate this topic to Maj  8-)

I find the signs hugely amusing.

Swine flu pandemic alert
h1n1 influenza risk
stay in your home for the next ten weeks
wear one of those little blue face mask things
watch the chaser's war on everything from Wednesday 21 may at 9pm on ABC1

I find it amusing... its better than billboards for anything else...

GRRR! I mentioned these signs before the show started and no one paid any attention...maybe because I mentioned it next to Dom's book being advertised in toilet cubicles...

The billboard itself is amusing I agree, but it doesn't make good TV, IF it is to wind up on TV. If it's just to advertise the show, then yeah it is better than anything else out there.

If it does end up in a "LOL WE USE FUNNY WAYS TO ADVERTISE OUR SHOW" segment again, I won't find it amusing since they did the exact same in season 2

Thanks. Although I think the thread title needs to change. How about instead of  'Contrustive criticism for the Chaser' we change it to 'fuck off and die Chaser you sell out pricks.' Anyway something to think about.....

I don't think they'll put it on TV.

They've been repeating ideas, sketches, charcaters of theirs for years now. Not to mention slipping in cutaway footage in their latest episode of a member of the publics reaction that was from an episode three years ago.

Yeah I know, some examples that spring to mind are using bananas for currency and then using bricks, and also 'recycling' aka not bothering to come up with new material stage show to stage show. But we didn't have a thread then to bitch about their recycling use beforehand :-P

Well, I thought the show was excellent, and I didn't notice anything being repeated.  Except for targeting various people with the bulls-eye.

Loved the Shore sketch.

No, no. I think that came out wrong. You said I didn't have a picture, so I was contributing one and this one has fond memories associated. As well as expressing my view on the chasers perhaps shittiness.
