I used to want Linger by The Cranberries. But I also wanted that for my wedding...

How is a song about a betrayal in a relationship appropriate for either a wedding or a funeral?

My soon-to-be housemate plays in a string quartet who mainly do weddings, and they get asked to play all manner of shit songs; even more so than normal because when there are really inappropriate words they think "oh good we'll take them out and just have the music". Some people have the weirdest taste in music.
