« on: December 16, 2008, 07:31:00 PM »

Ahaha, for some reason I find this amusing. Not amusing as in the jokes on the shirts amusing.
Amusing as in- I can't believe they have their own CLOTHING LINE

BEACHWEAR label Mambo have teamed up with The Chaser team to create a range of t-shirts featuring the pranksters' brand of humour.

Is it just me or is this scraping the barrel just a liiiittle bit?

edit: And from another article

Retailing for $59.95 a pop, the shirts feature designs with references ranging from Dr Seuss to Lindy Chamberlain.

.. I wonder how many they'll actually sell.

$60?
Fuck no!
Unless someone gets me one for Christmas, forget it.
Most I've spent on a piece of clothing is $35 for a pair of trackies.
Or $30 for a skirt.
Yeah, nah.

Beachwear label Mambo have teamed up with The Chaser team to create a range of t-shirts featuring the pranksters' trademark wit.

The team behind controversial stunts like the APEC security breach have created a limited edition range of seven new t-shirt designs taking aim at goths, Dr Seuss's The Cat in the Hat, and Lindy Chamberlain.

"We get a lot of people pitching different things and pretty much the only one we said yes to is Mambo, because A) we like them and we all grew up wearing them, and B) t-shirts are one of the few things we do actually like," The Chaser's Craig Reucassel told AAP.

"There's the Hat in the Cat design, which is the reject first draft of the Cat in the Hat, which is my favourite one.

"There's `the pitbull got my baby', which is a great picture by Reg Mombassa - our drawings apparently weren't good enough.

"But I think the one that sums it up just says `A funny t-shirt won't stop you being a boring prick', and that's the take-home message."

While humour comes naturally to them, Reucassel admits fashion isn't a natural fit for The Chaser team.

"Well Chas (Licciardello) shops exclusively at Big W so that rules him out (as most fashionable)," Reucassel said.

"Julian does buy fashionable clothes but they just don't look good.

"We're not a particularly fashionable bunch, which is why it's good to work with other people on this."

The Chaser's War on Everything will return to ABC TV in 2009 after the team of Chris Taylor, Andrew Hansen, Julian Morrow, Licciardello and Reucassel took some time off and toured a live show in 2008.

Reucassel said even they don't know what they've got in store for the coming year.

"We're in the midst of trying to figure that out right now," he said.

"We're basically in that bizarre brainstorming period where you come up with wacky and strange ideas and think, `I wonder if they'll let us do that?'."

i'm surprised that people pay $30+ at the abc shop for a chaser shirt. i'd say it'd be these same people who would fork out $60 for one.

i'm with jelly, i doubt there will be a women's cut shirt - they'd all be men's button-up style ones. oh well, it's not like i was going to buy one anyway :)
