OK, here's the basis for my problem:
http://www.news.com.au/story/0,27574,24667912-421,00.htmlThe research, commissioned by Barons Brewing Co, suggests there's been a rise in the number of champagne-drinking metrosexuals more interested in hair products than hanging out with mates.
OK, I dislike champagne, or at least the el cheapo Australian varieties they pass off. Too much crappy aftertaste. French is generally OK but in essence I'd rather one of the Ale products from Coopers.
Forum, does this count as beer?
I shall score it half a point to my metrosexuality and half a point to my Aussie Bloke side.
Barons Brewing CEO Scott Garnett said women were the strongest advocates of the save the males campaign.
"Many single women are crying out that it's almost impossible to find a real man," he said.
Is this because all the chicks are becoming men and fooling other women?
Or is it men who have become women fooling other women?
I thought only guys had a problem trying to identify the "cut and tuck" brigade.
After I meet them many single women are admittedly crying, for instance Yak springs to mind. But I'm not sure what that has to do with Barons Brewing research??
"We're not advocating men become yobbos - far from it - but we're losing the ability to laugh at ourselves, and this is a key part of who we are.
well clearly I'm ok with this because
- I spend a lot of time on here laughing at myself
- If I'm not laughing at myself you lot help me out quite spectaculalry by doing it for me
So there's a point for my Aussie Blokedom

"And guys don't seem to be spending as much time with their friends - either male or female - which is another real concern."
Why would a brewing company be worried that blokes aren't spending as much time with their mates?
Can't see any reason they'd be interested in that.....
The survey results show:
EIGHT out of 10 people think men spend more on their appearance than 10 years ago.
Well given the way Gillette charges for Mach 3 razors is that surprising?
Inflation would seem to take care of that all by itself I would have though, however, in teh spirit of the survey I shall accept teh penalty point

75 PER CENT say men are more likely to bring champagne and a cheese plate to a barbecue rather than beer and a tray of raw meat.
Who doesn't bring beer ffs?
Piss off if you don't!
Who expects you to bring a plate of raw meat?
Piss off if you do you tightarse bastards, you're the frigging hosts!
Champagne is good if chicks are going to be present but if you take my good stuff and serve me Yellowglen or somesuch rubbish I will make you feel like you should crawl back under your rock.
Although I do bring cheese platters, most people have no idea of the difference between an Aussie Gold Brie and a Pont l'Eveque. I will share but you must sit through a rant about the cheese makers being blessed and pass a test on cheese varietals afterwards.
Again, a split round, half a point each

60 PER CENT say men prefer to meet friends at restaurants or cafes rather than pubs.
Well yes, I suppose I do. Pubs are great for watching sporting events or "blokey" stuff but restaurants are so much more pleasant. And cafes do good coffee (well at least reasonable ones do) which I have yet to find in a pub.
After starting well as an Aussie Bloke I am scoring a penalty point against my ABiness and appear to be falling into this metrosexual thing all too easil it seems and no women will want me....

50 PER CENT say men are more likely to do yoga or Pilates than play footy or cricket on the weekend.
Pilates and yoga take an hour.
Footy and cricket even more so take all day. Are they surprised at this?
Another strike against my rugged Aussie masculinity apparently!

The survey shows only one in four people surveyed think metrosexuals - men who care about feelings, appearance and fashion - are a positive development for the Aussie male.
Oh dear! Forumites, having scored twice as many Metrosexual points as Aussie Bloke points however will I cope!
Although, AB could just as easily be Aussie Bogan so I guess I should be happy with that.......
And luckily I guess the 3/4 who have a problem with it live west of ANZAC Bridge so I don't rate in Westie terms either.
Phew!
I was worried there for a moment.
