Heard an ad for this yesterday. I wasn't quite paying attention, but I think it's going to be about the US presidential elections...?

It was a bit scant on details... bit of a 'coming soon' teaser. I'd assume it's another 2 o'clock sunday filling in for Roy and HG thing... or maybe sunday night filling in for Safran?  :?

Anyone know anything?

Sweet :-) All my constant hassling of "merh do bloody sunday again" has finally been worth it. Not that my whinging would have had anything to do with the decision though.
But it's only half an hour.. haha and with songs, it will be like 15 minutes of talktime.

That's an unusual timeslot... every day at 5pm from monday the 27th to monday the 3rd. 8 eps in total.

What a great time for my mp3 player/fm radio to die (again)  :|

Ah well, I'm sure it'll be podcast.  :-)

Ah, so it's the pre-Hack timeslot :-P

I'm always on the train then, and the reception is shit, so I never listen at that time.

AFTER rumours of another spoof-style television show, The Chaser is returning to the wireless for the US election. While the show was originally destined for ABC television, it was pulled at the 11th hour due to budgeting issues. The group has returned, tails between their legs to their alma mater, Triple J.

There's always a risk in testing how interested Australians are in an election they can't vote in. Thank god for Sarah Palin, said Chris Taylor, who will be hosting a daily rundown on the US elections from Monday on the yoof radio network.

"We just need to make sure we don't make every single episode about Sarah Palin, although there is enough material," he said.

The half-hour 5pm slot (plus podcast) will see Taylor joined by Craig Reucassel for reflections (read: pranks, sketches and commentary) in the lead-up to one of the most important American elections in history. "On the one hand you've got Obama wondering whether his grandmother will still be alive on November 4," he said, "and on the other hand you've got the Republican Party wondering if John McCain will still be alive on November 4."

Chas Licciardello and Julian Morrow are also slated to make appearances on The Race Race. Hillary Clinton has been approached, adds Taylor.

"We might just have her answering the phones or emptying the bins or putting CDs in the mail for successful talk back callers," he said. "But we'll have a role in the show for Hillary Clinton; I can assure you."

I've seen people use "yoof" heaps, I think it sort of has the idea of making fun of things that aimed at the youth of today. :P

I keep reading this thread and thinking it says The Amazing Race. Which I love...

It's a little uncalled for in a news article though. Looks like something a bogan would say/write. :|

I've seen it written mainly in news articles. I think it's meant to sound like that showing what the yoof is like.

You'd think they'd at least write it as 'yoof' rather than just yoof...  :|
