Though, yeah, the ending, and various "revelations" that led up to it which every B movie has done to death...and Cate Blanchett's character...if they'd got rid of those it wouldn't have been so bad.
I actually quite liked her character, somewhat campy, very definitely overplayed, the fact she actually took it up to teh "heroic" parties. One of the better villains around, especially because her nominal super power didn't actually work, or at the very least wasn't shown to give advantage only to have it fail in the most obvious way at teh death.
Some of the continuity issues (eg teh super magnet that seemed to be selectively supermagnetic on all ferrous and non ferrous materials) pissed me off, but hey, it was a good romp.
The kid with teh switchblade was actually pretty cool, normally roles like that deserved to have "epic fail" written on them.
Oh please, a cliched greaser. If Cate was a stereotype and the movie ripped of other movies then Mutt was just a bland cut and paste from American Graffiti.
