THE BUDGET - 2008
« on: May 13, 2008, 08:57:57 PM »

Sorry to interrupt the inanity with something of significance, but I figured this was needed  :-P

So...Swanny is in the process of handing it down now. So far, the focus seems to be on "working families".

Well I say - FUCK WORKING FAMILIES.

Breeders are the biggest contributors to global warming. They produce baby consumers, who subsequently use non-renewable resources, use resources that damage the environment, and their farts contribute to the greenhouse effect  :-P

Why are we encouraging people to breed? How can these governments, on one hand, give a slice of the pie to "climate change" and with the other hand, encourage breeders who will produce more people, who will make the chase on climate change even harder?

Aside from that, I'm sick of being a single person who always gets overlooked in federal budgets. You want to spawn and continue to work? PAY FOR THE PRIVILEGE OF PUTTING YOUR KID IN A BABY FARM, YOU UNCARING FUCK!!

Besides that - kudos on the education and health pennies :P

No! Shhh! Don't spoil it for me! We're on a half-hour delay over here, I don't want to know the ending!

I can see your point only too well, Yak.  But I would argue that some kids are necessary if only for us grown-ups to boss around.

ah but if people stop spawning, there'll be no more kids, and you'll have to go find yourself another job.

I can just see yak 5 years from now, with 2 kids trailing around behind her, ranting and complaining about the lack of child support in the budget.

nah, you missed the point.

government policy is currently geared to encourage population growth. people will always breed...(hence why i'll always be employed :P)...but with these scaffolds in place for people to find it more economically viable to have kids and have more kids, well, it's not responsible policy-making.

yeah...i know all the crap about there needing to be a substantial working base to generate taxes to support the massive numbers of baby boomers in their retirement etc, but that's crap. baby boomers are so well off that they can look after themselves.

Actually it's classic "do nothing" Rudd in action.

All your EIF (Education Infrastructure Fund) will do is revamp buildings and stuff.  So the money actually goes to us bogans in teh construction sector, not the smarty pants uni types.

BUT

We have given it a cool name containing the word "education" so all teh chattering classes will lap it up!

I missed it due to my absence from the home from 7.30pm this evening.  :-(
But I can predict what happened:
- more incentives for bogans to breed
- ripping off the rich
- cutting the compulsory work thing of the dole so the bogans have more time to breed
- ripping off the rich some more.

If Swan could count, perhaps we'd be a little better off. Guess we'll never know.

And another one misses the point ENTIRELY!

If this is Rudd the Reformer then I'm REALLY struggling to see where Rudd the Status Quo dude comes in.

Of all the ineffectual, useless things to piss fart about with this must be it.

If you really want tax reform start by upping the GST, cutting personal income tax in half and making GST take the place of interest rates as teh methodology for the RBA to control the economy.

Now, I'm not an economics guru, but if you cut personal income tax by half, wouldn't that increase spending and subsequently make this inflationary bizzo even worse?

Or are you saying that the massive prices by the bolstered GST would dissuade people from spending?

I don't reckon it would. Many people use spending as therapy - it's addictive :P

Well, private schools win yet again...

I didn't actually watch the budget last night (I forgot it was on for some reason). I'm just catching up via the newspapers online.

Yes, this "working families" line is becoming the stuff of legend.
