Just wanted to say (as you have locked the other one) if we are cutting down on spam why do we need the threads that say oh this thread has been moved?

Surely people couldn't you know, so a search!
Or look at last posts!

That comes up automatically. We can certainly delete them if you'd prefer to hunt around for moved threads, but given that they constitute at most one post per month, it's hardly comparable to everything else that's going on.

Actually, those "THIS THREAD HAS BEEN MOVED BY SUPER CRANKY MOD_BITCH" are quite annoying.

I would rather hunt around.

And plus, the thread usually comes up in unread posts again, anyway.

It's the default. We can stop doing it if you object to it that much. It's not a spam issue. Comprende?

The reason I always left it there was for new people who might not know their way round the forum so well, given the number of people complaining about newbies doubling up on existing threads, I should have thought that it was quite useful for avoiding more helpless posts asking about crap. But ok, in the future I won't do it unless it seems really necessary.

You didn't say it was a spam issue, Vis did, and this is a discussion about spam. I can read, actually, thank you for asking. Can you spell?  :roll:
