Invisible Friend.:
So we have a uni thread and a school thread, so now we need one for jobs.

And I just got a job so yay. :-D

And also thought I would put this in here too.

--- Quote from: grooviechickie on April 30, 2008, 02:50:46 PM ---How should I answer these selection criteria for a job? I don't think mine are all that good.

Broadly based administrative and clerical skills
I’m a control freak with a penchant for flirting on the phone, writing 'to do' lists that never get completed, and working on something frantically 30 minutes before it’s due.

Proven commitment to client services
Insert something about being helpful and truly lovely here. Offer to show breasts at regular intervals throughout the day.

Ability to communicate effectively
See above.

Ability to solve minor problems, in consultation with others and in line with procedures and protocol
PM various Chaser Forum members and beg for help.

Does being a mum count as having a job?

Invisible Friend.:
In my opinion (which doesn't count for anything anyways* :P), yes.

*EDIT: Because my typing sucks for one.

grooviechickie:
Kewlski. I'm in.

I hate looking for work. It hurts my brain.

grooviechickie:
I got sent a fake job application that a friend of a friend of a friend put in to a company... I can share bits of it with you (names changed to protect the innocent).

To be a “FACE” of the Agency.
A great man once said:  “To be the face of an agency, you need to love the agency… you need to be the agency… you need to take the agency inside you.”  Neat quote eh?  I thought of that one myself, and that’s the way I feel about Agency X. The first impression of Agency X needs to be someone that loves X and let me just say from the get go – I love X.

Meet & greet clients, visitors & suppliers.
C’mon, who doesn’t want to be greeted by me?  I meet and then I greet – and I will not compromise on that order, after all it’s my artistic integrity on the line… And clients love the way I handle myself. Welcome visitors to the X brand. One thing I excel at is intruding people to brands, like my own patented brand of hard work – that’s the way I roll.

Create a fun, creative & professional ambience to the Reception area.
When people see my creativity they say: “Hey get a load of this guy!”

Answer NEC PABX switchboard.
I can answer any NEC PABX you want me to… and with flare baby. Always with flare.

Operate internal paging system.
Now you’re talking. Internal paging systems are what I dream about on Thursdays! Let’s keep the party going!

Organise Local, Interstate & International couriers.
I deal with all couriers, especially local ones because they know me. My personal favourite is Fastway… Their way fast.

To keep the mood of the Agency up.
Now you’re just teasing… I don’t even need to address this one, but I will. I am mood. I breathe mood and I yearn for mood. You could even say that I am mood. If I am up, my agency is up.  And I’m up.

Keep Reception tidy.
C’mon, when have you known a man that speaks Spanish to be untidy?  Ola!

Someone who is happy to be a Receptionist.
Don’t worry… I’m happy.  Real happy.  I breathe happy and I yearn for happy.  You could even say that I am happy.

Proactive in addressing issues that may arise.
Pro – meaning ‘professional’
Active – meaning ‘sports’
And I love professional sports.  And when will issues not be arising in professional sports?  They have issues… But I don’t.  Because I’m pro-active baby!

Competent, thorough, helpful, friendly, cool, smart, confident, different, up & creative.
I think you know I’m competent, helpful and friendly.  I don’t know what “through” means but I’m though and through!  Not to mention cool (but I heat up when doing sit ups!).  The rest speaks for itself.  I think we’ve been through creative a number of times but to really show you how creative I am……….. look on the next page for a great painting I found on the net below:

There’s no painting – see! Now that’s creativity!

Conclusion:
Well enough said.  I think you’re quietly impressed.  Thanks for your time.  If you’re as interested as I am, gimme a call and we’ll discuss my starting time and salary package.
