Unaware of my disdain for this show, rootboy surprised me today with two tickets for the Chaser show at...wait for it...BLACKTOWN RSL CLUB. So we grabbed our passports and flannos and hit the M4.

As dubious as the destination was, it was actually quite a fitting venue for the Chaser's Age of Terror Variety Hour. The RSL tables were all spread out like a senior citizen's bingo night and the cheap hall tackiness suited the performance that we were about to endure.

Things that shit me:
1. Recycling of the internet dating thing - it was an EXACT replica of the Cirque du Chaser skit. Even down to the same pictures/usernames/personalities. What shit me is that this took up a fair chunk of the show.
2. I'm pretty sure the PowerPoint one was a ripoff from Cirque du Chaser as well...or I've seen it on *something* before. Regardless, it wasn't a "new" concept.
3. FUCKING MILKY BAR/KEVIN RUDD REFERENCE IS MINE, DAMMIT! (see Lookalikes thread for evidence) :P

Things that were pretty good:
1. The hip hop skit - great concept (it's a regular whinge topic of rootboy and I). Still, I reckon it could have been done/delivered a bit better.
2. The Frank Forde thing was a good concept but too long.
3. Watching the bogan audience sit there mute when the boys asked for (a) a currrent affairs story and (b) famous speeches (though one dude yelled out "Black Sabbath"...)

Overall, I thought it was a piece of shit.

Feel free to wildly trawl the net to prove me wrong.  I just thought I read it on there first.
