Hmm, I don't believe the standard free-for-all astrological forecasts but I do believe that a properly constructed personal chart can give pretty good insight to someone's personality. Even their basic sun sign offers a little bit of an insight into who they are.
My mum is awesome at picking out star signs. I'm getting there, but sometimes zone out but I'm usually pretty good at determining at least if they're air, water, earth or fire. I sat at my staffroom table at work and guessed 6/7 people's star signs one day though. That kinda blew me away.
Having said that, I've found that my Facebook "Cancerian Fire Dragon" forecast to be scarily accurate. I never read it before stuff, only after, and some days it spooks me. Today's is:
"Think to organize your succession as of now in order to simplify things for your inheritors and to pay less taxes to the State. Very favorable ambience for peaceful love affairs and happy moments beside the beloved one. A friendship will evolve toward a more tender relation. Don't play at chatterbox, it'll be dangerous this time! Great dynamism on all the line, which will be very useful to you in your work; but beware of possible disagreements with your colleagues or with the hierarchy; listen well to what will be said to you and express yourself clearly so as to avoid any confusion."
But has anyone read stars by Johnathon Cainer (?) in the Sunday paper? God, you need a literature degree to wade through the metaphors. It's painful.
