A resident of Melbourne I was forced to go to a mate who got it off a mate but it is a brilliant Australian drama, a ganster show depicting distinctly Australian gangsters in a way that is not kitch or too ochre.

What does the rest of Australia think about this distinctly Melbourneised drama?

Fuck that, lets talk about your aversion to iron oxides.  I say it should have been more ochre.

(I saw an episode over the weekend when I was in Sydney, I liked it.  I also missed all the brouhaha and publicity leading up to it.)

The first two episodes were pretty lame, just a US gangster movie made into the pilot of a drama.

The third one was alot better, though.

haven't watched it because:

a) it has like every Australian has-been (or never-was) actor in it - always a bad sign.
b) all the hooplah in the lead up just reeked of planned publicity and marketing.
c) those sorts of shows don't really float my boat anyway.

Doesn't seem too bad. Not awesome, but worth watching as well. At least the one last week wasn't as laced with ads as the first week (or so it seemed to me).

Agreed, it actually didn't look too bad, considering the crap we get on TV these days. I'm also sure that its ban in Melbourne is also pissing off the driver of the tram that has the giant ad over it.

It is, it drags on forever.  Unfortunately, having watched a few episodes to see if it was going to be any good, I'm curious as to how it all ends.

Meh, come on, it's still better than most of the dramas on tv. And its certainly better than the other aussie ones on. The first ep has been the highpoint so far though.
