Yahoo (in conjunction with Microsoft) vs Google
« on: February 12, 2008, 10:41:53 PM »

Even if Yahoo becomes bigger and better than the old faithful Google, are people really going to change their view about it? I mean, are people really going to change from saying "just Google ABC" to "just Yahoo ABC"? Doesn't really have quite the same ring to it, does it?

No it doesn't yahoo is gay, google is now like a brand thingy. Alot like krispy kreme. We've got a new thing around called Dough Boys, that make donuts, cool donuts, they've got catchy tops etc etc, but no one will buy from them, because Kripsy Kreme is the fashion donut. Anyway, google has a better name than yahoo.

That's only because you are 12. Yahoo has been around much longer than google, and for many years was the primary search engine for internetsTM users.

Besides, Yahoo!7 is channel 7, I can hear it ringing now.

I couldn't agree more! It's all about the established brand name. And even the 'catchy' saying "do you Yahoo?" will not fix its inferior image!

It is an energy saving page of google, if you just want to search for websites.

Interesting! Wonder whether any other search engines have devised such a thing?

If you can call someone ripping off Google a 'subsidiary', then yes

Does it really matter if one gets bigger and better than the other?

As long as it works properly, does what you need it to do and is free, I don't care what I use.
