Chaser security breach case adjourned
« on: January 16, 2008, 06:56:00 PM »

I don't think this has been posted yet. If it has, let me know and I'll lock this thread.

A court has adjourned a case against members of ABC TV's satirical team The Chaser accused of breaching security during last year's APEC summit in Sydney.

The case was adjourned because new information had surfaced in the past two days which would affect it, the hearing at Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court was told.

The case had already been adjourned late last year, amid speculation the charges may be dropped.

Ten men and one woman, aged between 25 and 47, face charges of entering a restricted area without justification after allegedly using a fake motorcade to breach the multi-million-dollar APEC security operation on September 6.

The convoy of three black cars, decked out to resemble an official Canadian motorcade, came within metres of the Sydney hotel where US President George W Bush was staying.

None of the people involved - cast and crew from the ABC show The Chaser's War on Everything - appeared at Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday.

Prosecutors told the court that a decision on the future of the case had not been made.

Deputy Chief Magistrate Paul Cloran adjourned the matter to March 12 at the same court.

There is also a video on that link. Not helpful that the video is an interview with Julian; talking about the TT stunt where Chas & Andrew were detained at Channel 7.

Because the Magistrate needs more time to think of reasons why they're a threat to the public.

Come on now I hardly think they'd be as concerned about it as you seem to be.

I don't know...I'd think they'd be pretty worried considering they could end up in jail...

But it's not like they snuck in or forced their way in.
