I missed a lot of this year
One of the major things this year was the taking of fangirlism to bold new heights! We lost KL, and she got replaced by about 800 of her mini-me's.
(Note to pedants, please help! That apostrophe looks bad, but I'm hoping it's easier to read this way than 'mini-mes', which makes me think of mini-Mez, which would actually be rather a good thing...)
APEC, etc.
Hmmm...
Mini-Mez here, to answer all your pedantry questions. Yes, it is quite acceptable to use an apostrophe where
something is needed to make what you wrote make sense, as in the case of "mini-me's". Some people take it too far though. There is no need to put an apostrophe in plural acronyms, as by nature they are in capitals, and the "s" is not, eg: ATMs, or where it's plural numbers, eg: the 1950s. Though if you are just saying "the '50s", you put the apostrophe in
front of the 50 to denote that you are leaving out the "19" part. Clear as mud? Good.
