2007 Forum Highlights and 2008 Resolutions
« on: January 02, 2008, 01:01:09 AM »

Well I was waiting for someone else to do such a thread... somewhere to post the good things that happened on here in 2007 and how to be better in 2008 ;)

For me the highlight of the forum is anyone's creative work. Obviously this happens all over the forum, I have enjoyed plenty of people's work whether it be in the form of rants, fairytales, art, or pun-filled drivel. I particularly appreciate the work of the prolific DIYers, mulley, CK, draino, CA, Goose, bob hawke , genghis, and there are others less prolific this year but still quality. I personally was a bit disillusioned when the forum purge included the DIYs, I found it a bit disrespectful to the past contributors. Anyway I should get over that so my first resolution is to start contributing creatively to the forum again...

A small highlight for me came in May 2007, when after a year here I got my first taste of Chaser forum blood, and I liked it. Erm second resolution is to not lust after forum blood so much.

That said, with any luck 2008 will bring me further opportunities for hosting Chaser events in my backyard and writing more novels to discuss with the Chasers at signings...

Go nuts with your forum resolutions for 2008 and highlights of 2007.

Well I'm not saying it wasn't a horrible anus of a year on here, but there were still plenty of laughs... just you had to wade through about 10000 posts of inanity to find it.

It has been a pretty uneventful year... but I suppose it's had its moments! Any discussions which light fire in our bellies is what I appreciate most!

Yak's bannination and the Hothouse Debacle were the only forum dramas this year, right?

Not to mention Mama Corducci's consequent affirmation that she'd stick around, when she didn't.

Highlights would have to be the laughs - I've missed laughing at the screen over someone's reply.

The low was the Hothouse shit, because I was thrown out into the cold (it was scary out there in the real world).

2008 might be the beginning of the end for the forum, or it might be the end of the boredom as we fight to take back the snidey, witty, satire-laden forum we used to know and love.  :-D

I have nothing better to compare this year to, so my standards are pretty low.

I missed a lot of this year

One of the major things this year was the taking of fangirlism to bold new heights! We lost KL, and she got replaced by about 800 of her mini-me's.

(Note to pedants, please help! That apostrophe looks bad, but I'm hoping it's easier to read this way than 'mini-mes', which makes me think of mini-Mez, which would actually be rather a good thing...)

APEC, etc.

Hmmm...

I resolve to continue being me, hopefully a thinner happier me.

I will attempt to be funny, never really got the hang of satirical

I resolve to watch some chaser episodes and find out who these fangirls are talking about
