(Before anyone comments, yes, I'm back, and yes, I was away for a while, and yes, I know none of you really care either way.)

I missed you. :(

I'm annoyed that everyone calls me a Fangirl. Just because I'm 14 and Andrew is my avatar shouldn't instantly make me one, I was watching CNNNN when I was 9/10 years old, understood the jokes and everything.

I'm still skeptical of these people.

When I was 9/10, I was running around trying to kick boys in the nuts and measuring the length of my pubic hair (not simultaneously).

When I was 9/10 running away from boys was our major objective - stay away from the boys germs - Though kicking them in the boys was very fun too.

Ok, I'm really late into this thread, haven't read any of it but the opening content.

And... I think that is a very very good definition. I now know that I fall under the "Obsessive Fan" cateragory and not 'Fangirl" as everyone seems to think I am  :|

But still, is it good to fall under "Obsessive Fan"?

It depends. Do you steal their underwear?

My problem with "devoted" is that it sounds so...holy.  "Obsessed" sounds far more fun.

Bludger:  I'm touched.  But I don't have any trouble believing that people could be CNNNN fans at age 9/10.  At that age, I was telling my friends' parents to vote Liberal and eagerly watching as my dad branchstacked yet another FEC chairman preselection.

...What?  Like I've said before, politics is big in our family.

You're dad listened to a ten year old when he used his power to vote? God help us all!!

My dad didn't, and I doubt my friends' parents did, but that didn't stop me from telling them...

out of the two categories "Obsessive Fan" and "Fangirl" I'm def. Obsessive Fan. I'm obsessed with the Chaser... but I do like their show, not just for looks.

I think they are very attractive men, but that's not the reason I like the show. I love it for it's content. But yes, I'm in the 'Obsessive Fan' cateragory.

Wait... I already said that...

P.S. Merry Christmas guys. I'm sitting here with my 'SPOILT' Christmas hat and my family are ten minutes away from opening presents, got the music in the background. Hope you all have a lovely day/s (mine go for about three or four days)

Doesn't "obsessive fan" only open up the gates for males? But otherwise, aren't they the same damn thing?

At least, they are as far as I can see.

To me, it seems as if there is no difference. It's just no acceptable to call your self a fangirl. Personally I'd rather be called a fangirl than obsessive (previous definition aside) because obsessive makes them seem like crazed maniacs.

Okay, a fangirl is most commonly described as a girl with an over obsession with something. Now, if you take that into consideration.. it's not all that different from this so called "obsessive fan."

I think it's just the whole, "girls can't be bright enough to understand this stuff" sort of thing that's causing you to think otherwise. Yes, I know I'm a fan and a girl. So you jump the guns and assume I'm just a "fangirl". But really, I enjoy this show purely for the actual content itself. Not because "OMG ANDREW IS FUCKING GORGEOUS! OMG! OMG!"

Honestly, that's a silly misconception that people make a lot.

Now go ahead and flame me.
