It is.  "Leaching" in this context would have been wrong.  Lawyers leech.

When I was a child, my family doctor was called Dr Leech.  Funnily enough, I grew up to have a genetic disorder that can be treated with leeches.

Equally "leaching" is a process used to extract valuable minerals from ore.

Yes, but we were originally talking about lawyers.

Any problems with the concept of lawyers as leeches?

Leeches are often useful?

Where there's a lawyer, you may also hear the sound of a French cash register

Leech is the noun. Leach is the verb. Leeches leach.

If you don't like nouns becomming verbs, stay the fuck away from Shakespeare.

Leech as a verb makes sense just as you chair the meeting and table the motion.

You're right.  I just read the sentence again and it should have been "leaching".  But we all got the gist of what he meant, and that's what's so good about English.   8-)  (embarrassed but unalarmed.)

You should work for KRudd.

You just got your "Mastery of English" licence revoked as Adi kicked you all over the exam room.

You are now an ex, but decidedly wannabe, pedant.
