An L-Plater in Sydney has barely passed the Driving Ability Road Test (DART) after executing a reverse-parallel park which almost proved fatal.

According to conscious witnesses, the 42-year old woman indicated to park adjacent to a busy bus-stop in Kogarah. After initially entering the park space, she misjudged the available room and continued to reverse another 13 metres.

RTA instructor Glenn March said "by the time I'd realised she had over-reversed, it was too late. At 4km/hr, reflexes lose their usefulness. Thank God the prams slowed us down; we could have actually killed someone."

After knocking down 3 elderly citizens, the woman attempted to drive forward to clear the area. However, upon changing to first-gear, the inexperienced driver stalled twice and took a further 45 seconds to find the clutch friction-point. This was hindered by an additional attempt to turn on the left indicator, after mistaking it for the windscreen wipers. The three Kogarah Bowling Club regulars were reportedly under the test-car wheels for about 4 minutes.

March said "[At] first I thought she had simply rolled over speed bumps, but it became suspicious after only one side of the car rose each time.

Following the completion of the test, the woman was awarded a Provisional-1 (P1) license, despite being charged with 9 counts of negligent driving occassioning actual-bodily-harm. When questioned why he had passed the woman, March simply replied "she was a potentially dangerous and maniacal driver, and hence is fully qualified to be a P-plater."

I'm surprised she wasn't in the Burnley tunnel. Appropriate name too.

You 3 are disgusting.

I hereby call upon the govt to pass retrospective legislation so that you can be incarcerated at Gitmo for the next 5 to 10 years

Didly is right, imagine what you three would have said if she had tried a three-point turn.
