American Shootings is the government responsible
« on: October 29, 2007, 06:06:08 PM »

Is the USA government responsible for the thousands of shootings that happen every year in America. Does the compulsory gun laws and easy access to guns because of the American law cause these horrible events? Does the government keep the country of American scared through news reports and speeches by dumb leaders add to the usage of guns in America? :?

The lack of guns creates the problem.

If everyone was armed and appropriately trained then every freak would be blasted into oblivion before they killed too many people.

Or something like that.

Oh yes, exactly. Why do people outside of the US never understand? Its not the guns that kill people, its the people that do. With guns, of course. Nonetheless, despite them have exponentially larger numbers of people killed as a result of guns, it would be much worse if guns were banned over there. I mean, look at what a dangerous killing zone Australia has become, what with armed criminals taking over the country and all.
I certainly don't.

Guns don't kill people, rappers do.

Yes, I agree that
I the compulsory gun laws
place an unfair economic burden on crack heads and single mothers who don't have the necessary disposable income to purchase a gun.  I wonder if Walmart does interest free like Harvey Norman?

I think it's too late for America to go back on their gun laws because they've been raging on about it for years without ANYONE doing anything about it. Also, most Americans can't even point their own country on a map of the World. This means the media is fucking them up bad and they are just getting dumber and dumber. Just the little few actually get to know what's going on around them without the media screwing their brains over.

Well I can't refute your empirical evidence, as usual Naf, but perhaps those who have campaigned for gun reform have run into trouble with their constitution.

Oh dear. Thanks Michael Moore.

This is the reason 16 years olds shouldn't vote.

And I wonder where our society gets the blame mentality from. Everyone needs someone to blame. Why should the Government be responsible? Why can't drug fucked bling rappers or "poor me" emo knobs take responsibility themselves ?

Oh der. If the US government operated more like say...China's government, they wouldn't be in such a mess. What is it with giving people freedom to choose any way?

The funny thing is that smoking and bad diets kill far more Americans than any shooting or drug deaths. They also cost the country more. Thing is, it's not as sensational, and not as interesting to talk about for your average 16 year old.

While gun control may help the problem, the only person who is to blame in a shooting is the dick who pulled the trigger.
Just because you have access to a gun, doesn't mean you have to shoot people with it, and just because 99% of people are wankers, doesn't mean you should kill them.

And if George Bush speeches add to gun use in America, they have fucking terrible snipers over there,... play more video games and learn to shoot for fucks sake.

Well, isn't the government supposedly there in part to control such people?

The government controls only prisoners. Everyone else can do whatever they like within the laws that reflect the moral and ethic sensibilities of most people.
