WoE nominated for AFI award
« on: October 24, 2007, 06:43:48 PM »

The show's up for an AFI award in the TV comedy category. They're up against David Tench, Wilfred and Supernova.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2007/10/24/2069151.htm and http://www.afi.org.au/ (follow the links to awards nominations)

Winners to be announced on December 5 - might be an interesting day for them. Good luck, guys, on both counts!

That's what I thought. Not wanting to speak too soon, but it ain't the toughest competition ever.

Well, they won it last year, so they're going for back-to-back.

Lucky TT/ACA viewers don't have a vote, unlike at the Logies

Wilfred is probably the only thing that'll get near the WoE out of that list.

Not to my recollection, and I've spent the best part of the year watching TV, having been rather sick for most of it. But I think there's some weird timing thing, because the last series was probably on after '06 nominations closed.

David Tench was the stupidest inane piece of drivel I'd ever seen an advert for.

David Tench was the biggest letdown I have ever come across - the teaser campaign was so snappy and intruiging! I actually think Wilfred will be a close contender, it's sharp and different. They'll probably win but the AFI does like arty shit. Case in point - Somersault.

I just loved seeing a ballpark normal female in a tv show.

Congrats boys.  David Tench being nominated alongside the Chaser is a bit of an insult and doesnt say much for the Australian comedy industry.

Hopefully they take the win.
