Come now, is this the best KRUdd can do?
http://www.smh.com.au/news/economy/rudd-outlines-tax-vision/2007/10/19/1192301012405.htmlThere must be more to it than this.
And if the savings associated with the tax cuts for over $180K are really $3bn for a one year difference I'm amazed.
No idea how KRudd & Co modelled that one but anyone who earns that amount with a minimum of half a brain (leaving the pool who don't to Rugby League players and Ben Cousins) employs an accountant to help them legitimately get their tax down.
Shit, I just over twice that and my taxable income is legally under $100K.
So it's not just the "me tooism" of the rates, it's the complete lack of abiliy to model financial outcomes that bothers me.
Oh, and for those who claim JHo is too sneaky this line or a version of it seems to crop up everywhere in KRudd's policies/sound bites
"Labor's treasury spokesman Wayne Swan said the ALP did not have the resources of the Treasury to double check its plan but had committed to it as a goal."
In other words - we'll say anything and then come out later and say "but hey, we put that caveat on everything so it's OK for us"
Fucking dangerous.
