The Bible is supposed to be the true, exact word of God as transmitted through common people. People, mark me, the same as you or I. If you want to have a belief in something and none of the extremely broad range of philosophies is doing it for you - that is, if you want a religion that is going to make perfect sense to you and will explain everything you've ever needed to know - then I suggest you write your own.

Take the literal perspective of the Bible being the word of God coming through people. You're a person, just as common and/or as capable of connecting with God as anyone else. So make it up yourself!

At least you'll feel all warm and philosophically fulfilled, and you won't be making some money-hungry bastard constantly richer and more powerful by allowing him to sap you of your free will and ability to question the world around you.

Whoever owns the royalties to that one must be just swimming in it. I'd say the money would GENERALLY go to charitable means. But in the case of Hillsong, probably towards, you know, another massive stadium so they can continue to brainwash the masses. Who then, you know, buy more bibles and donate more money. And the process continues.

Luckily enough, I think there is a fixed percentage of the population that can be classified as "gullible dumbfucks", so theres gotta be a glass ceiling here at some point.

The problem is, even if there are independently philosophical people out there (and there are a few), they are usually so sick of the brainwashing mentality exhibited by organised religions that they won't actively encourage others to seek alternative philosophical options themselves.
Meanwhile, churches (and similar agencies) are grooming ARMIES of advocates who will force their beliefs on as many people as possible. Add to this the fact that contraception is largely frowned on by religious groups, and you get an image of churches grooming AND breeding potential sponges to be wrung of their Independence and money.

Ah, that pisses me off more than anything else. Dumbfucks getting sucked into a scam, fair enough, but its really not fair when kids are brainwashed indoctrinated into this shit from birth. They don't even get a chance to think logically, and while a few of them always manage to break free, there are plenty who are unable to. Religion should honestly be kept away from kids until they are old enough to think about it critically themselves.

Im pagan so have nothing to do with this, but some of the things ive heard about hillsong makes me think hard about being religious at all. If i had to contribute 10% of my wages, i'd be very very poor. Churches shouldnt ask for money from people. Doesnt seem right. Although i cant really say anything as i dont know the full details.

If you pick out the right parts of the Bible, then yes, it will be all good.
