I was responding to GC, not you, Az?

So?

South Australia used to be a good place if you were a smoker, you could, at one point, grow up to ten plants, anymore and it was considered a criminal offence and you would be charged with supply. The amount of plants dropped to five and now I think it is only two or three, so long as they are grown outdoors and not under lights. If you are caught growing under lights, (and don't say hydroponics because technically it's not unless you grow your plants only in water without a medium like perlite) you are automatically charged with supply and will go to jail more than likely

I thought there'd been a misunderstanding because my response ended up further down the page.

Hey, this is an interesting read:

"Although cannabis is a relatively benign drug, at least by comparison with some other illegal drugs (and some legal drugs, such as alcohol), most Australian States and Territories prohibit its use, possession or sale. They also invest resources in enforcing that prohibition."

No, my kids don't know about it (and I feel a bit hypocritical, but considering the usage is minimal...).
My parents do that. They say, dont smoke, or dont drink, etc. When one is an alcoholic and the other smokes 3 packets a day. Its sooo much fun in my house.

I know someone in VIC who had around 3 plants in his yard. Neighbour called the cops and he got away with a small fine!. So maybe i need to do a bit more research. You could move to Melb GC. Get run over by a tram!.

I didn't know Canadians thought, I always thought they just copied Americans. Well there you go, I have learnt my new thing for the day, I can now switch my brain off. Keep thinking CF, be an individual.

Busted my son (17) with some pot not so long ago and as I am a smoker and not a hypocrit, I explained to him the health problems and expense associated with such a habit rather than going ballistic at him. I think this message may have got through to him as I have found no more, and yes, I have looked.

Aza, stop pilfering your son's stash! Nah mate, you probably did the right thing. It's a bloody expensive habit to form (that's why I don't plan on forming one).

Jo, I will be upfront with my kids when they are a bit older.  :-D

Hey Az, did you actually read the drug info book that JHo sent to all the mailboxes around the country? Would have helped...deal with the situation??  Mine ended up in the recycling bin... But if your son is no longer smoking the weed, then good job!  :-D

Made my kids read it, then used the pages to roll up the biggest joint you have ever seen.

I've decided to bump up this old thread.

I have a dilemma. A fair few years ago now I started to notice that when I downed my usual vodka and orange, after about 10 minutes my chest and back would start to tighten up and I would have difficulty breathing, like my lungs were being compressed. The feeling lasted about 30 minutes or so. I thought that it was perhaps just the vodka, and started to try other spirits. I got the same reaction (gin was the worst).

So I tried other alcoholic beverages like liquers, even beer, and found that they, too, gave me the same feeling. It's quite painful and certainly uncomfortable - I haven't tested it too far as I am worried I could have serious breathing issues.

I tried wine, and found that with white I had a bit of a reaction (not as bad as spirits, though). Happily, I had no reaction to red wine, so I started to really appreciate a fine cab sav.

Over the past month or two I've noticed that the same feeling is creeping up with a glass of red. It's not that bad yet, but it will probably get bad soon enough. So there is nothing left for me to drink.

I have discovered one other person who has the same reaction, except it makes her fingers and arms go tingly as well as not being able to breathe, so she is like me - she just doesn't drink.

Now - other people on this planet can relax with a few glasses of alcohol, and some can indulge quite seriously if they wish. It's perfectly legal.

All I have left is the ganja. It is not something I use very much (probably two or three times a year), but now that I cannot really drink any alcohol, what option do I have left (besides abstinence - not an option!)?

Do you think that in these circumstances it is within my rights to partake in a little relaxation toke a couple of times a month (like I do with wine)?

Or do you feel that because it is illegal that it is not okay?

Well, the solution is obvious...don't drink.

As to one being illegal and one not...it's because they don't dare banning alcohol.  I'd prefer to see them both banned...though, then I'd probably want to go on and ban "being a stupid fucker".
