spy vs. self
« on: July 17, 2007, 10:04:03 PM »

Jason, twenty-eight left the family ostrich business for a new career as a truck driver. But his intrests were more electric than your average ostrich-farming truck driver. Relaxing one evening with friends at a pub, Jason shifted the convosation to his new intrests in spy gadgets. He pulled an ordinary-looking pen out of his pocket and explained that it was actually a single-shot pistol. To demostrate, he pointed it at his head and clicked the button. The cleverly disguised gadget worked perfectly, sending a fatefully fateful .22-caliber bullet into Jason's left occipital lobe. :-P

Fatefully fateful.  How zestfully zestful.

Not everyone can handle driving a truck.

a) I think you mean eclectic
b) conversation
c) interests
d) occipital lobe is at the back of your head
e) slightly rewording one of the less amusing (and for that matter credible) stories from the Darwin Awards and posting it here is neither funny nor clever

*You're* missing something?
I hope it's Nick. Even though that means I've taken the bait... I really hope it's Nick...

Ah, but I didn't you see, that's why I put the... oh... never mind...

Anyway, I'm not picking on you, you did ask (in another thread) for advice so I was just advising you that some words in your DIY (HAH!) were misspelled (which can detract from your writing and in one case changed the meaning of what you were saying) and that it was obviously a retyping of a Darwin Awards story and that it wasn't amusing.

I'll let you know when I *do* start picking on you. Oh wait, maybe I did above...

 ...and I was *going* to say "Am I not being tactful enough?"
Except, it was more subtlety than tact. Next time I'll just come straight out and say what I really think...
