Dear all,

We are glad you love the tv show. Really. But bear in mind this is not a fan site, but our website. We all check in on it from time to time.

So don't say anything you don't want us to read. And some of the posts are getting to concern us a little. So bear in mind that we reserve the right to scratch stuff that's just too weird/freaky/yuk/awful/obsessive/bizarre.

Cheers Dom

It's finally hit. I wonder what it took to get to this point.

Which one of you freaks has been stalking?

So does that mean the "Andrew's Pube" thread is getting the arse? :(

Only if it actually came from his arse.

They're spooked by the cynicism? Personally I'd be spooked by the AHOF. Speaking of which, I really oughta go about striking my name off that list, given the amount of crap I've been handing them. Us.  :|

Hmmm. Regarding that, do you think I should (with the permission of Random22) scrap the current fanclub and replace it with something more respectable? I know we're a bit freaky, but I never considered us to be the horrible, "lolrolfzzzOMFGbabeeezzz" type of fanpeople. I thought we were pretty harmless, but we've been receiving a lot of abuse lately *looks in NB's direction* for our fan-song-writing antics and what-not.

I think scrapping and re-forming the club would be a bit like Puff Daddy renaming himself P. Diddy.  :|

A fan club is only as strong as its members, and there's something about Andrew that seems to attract the slightly less sane breed of fan. Sorry Calc, but I don't reckon there's anything you can do about that short of maiming him.
I'd shoot for the angle of there being nothing wrong with your type of fangirling. Every famous person needs their rabid groupies as much as they need their intellectuals.

(and for the record, no, you're not "lolrolfzzzOMFGbabeeezzz." Relative to everyday life. It just seems relative to this highly cynical forum that you might be. Given that everyone else spends their time seeing how many ways they can subtly criticise and abuse )

I was thinking more along the lines of forgetting AHOF and some of its members NEVER EVER HAPPENED and (trying) to create a more "sophisticated" place where I control who enters the club (although I can't control what they post, and I refuse to make a "fansite" at proboards.com) and maybe having something that slightly resembles an intelligent conversation.  :|

I think the key point to your predicament Calc is that you can't really control what others are going to say, like you said. I wouldn't worry too much over the whole AHOF thing, just enjoy having people to chat to and share the fun of 'fangirling' with. You'll eventually find something new to occupy yourself and all this won't matter anymore. Just make sure you try and carry yourself in a way that you can live with and don't worry about those that don't take a more 'sophisticated' approach to things. (Because in reality, there is no sophistication in fandom!)

Calc, Fliss' suggestion is nice, and rational and good and all that, but I think I see another problem right here:

Double negative. How can you claim to be above them? tsk tsk.
