I wonder what gc thought was wrong with facebook. Ha.
LOL I'm glad I made the convo here so very interesting with my G&S comment.

Look, I like FB because I can keep in contact with a few people I've known for years and who live far away etc. That's a great aspect.

But I hate it desperately because I think being 'friends' with people who I don't really have much in common with, or really interact with, or whose posts I block because I think they're beige people etc. is dumb. Those who have 5189 'friends' are ridiculous and they don't even know it - they think they're, liek, totes awsum.

I also hate it when things typed and meant in jest get taken uberseriously. I also hate that my new phone has free FB so I removed it. I hated having my phone bleep at me, telling me yet another inane comment was made after my (naturally epic) comment on a friend's page two days ago. :)

I'm off to watch The Social Network.

Yeah, I'm glad that conversation happened, it was much better than GC's post.

(I kid, I'm glad you're posting again. I totally drove past the place we had thai food the first time we met. I smiled at the memory)

Er, that wasn't me? I know i mentioned something about how i thought the system of "the mother gives birth so the kids are always meant to stay with her"

It's not really as simple as that. The reason that happens is because there used to be a system of giving the children to the men, always, if a couple separated. What happens now is a result of the feminist backlash to that (kinda, mostly) so it's understandable, even if not desirable.

And Neil, women are shit, as are men. Just don't interact with people is my general rule. I hope that goes well for you :)

Is it just me or does it seem like women are more likely to cheat (or whatever you want to call it) on their partners?

My data does not support that.

More information please

The Vic State Lib was highlighting two words that use all vowels in alphabetical order.  I made a sentence using five words that use all vowel in alphabetical order.  Someone liked my comment and I checked out who they were.  Turns out they lived in the next suburb and work in an industry that I'm interested in (but 95%+ of people in it are volunteers).   I mentioned I was interested in getting involved, but at a different level, he suggested I volunteer with the peak industry body for a while rather than where I was suggesting.

I volunteered for a few months, one day a week.  He also gave me piecemeal bits of paid work too.  The GM (who I professionally adore, as do a lot of folks in the industry) was thinking about putting on a temp and he suggested I might be interested.  We had a talk, she hired a temp anyway, then took me to lunch and offered me a research/writing/henchman job working specifically with her, told me to pick my hours and a rate that would work for me.

Suck on that.

You cbf? How is deleting FB easier than pressing the button to stop the notifications?

G: I've lost 0.8kg!

S: My waist and hips have apparently gotten a few centimetres bigger.

G&S: the trainer at the gym said it's because I've put on muscle under the fat and haven't lost enough stomach fat yet.

G: sports starting up again tonight so I can run and lose more weight!

:)
