Bring it on...
« on: May 09, 2007, 06:06:32 PM »

Hi all,

I’m a Victorian male in my mid 20’s and you can call me Waltrow – not that anyone gives a shit about any of that, if you do it’s way past your bed time… go on… go to bed or I’ll take off my belt – Should I take off my belt regardless??? I’ll leave that one up to you.

I have been lurking around these forums for a while just reading, and never posting until now. That probably says a lot about me, I like sit back, watch, learn and say nothing until it’s time. I reckon it’s about time I got involved and added to this rather large web of controversy. I like controversy, even when I come out worse off for it… just because it’s funny and I’m more than willing to have a laugh at my own expense.

I’m generally a very scientifically minded person and always try to think things through logically. I am particularly good with digital logic and probability. If I could change only one thing about the human race, I would erase bad logic from the heads of all of those fuckwits out there that can’t think (intelligently) for themselves. You could argue that there are far greater problems in the world right now – and you would probably be right in doing so – but I believe that the vast majority of these issues would just correct themselves with better logic. Having said that, if it wasn’t for all the bad logic from so many wankers in this world, a great forum like the chaser would probably not exist as the smarter beings on this planet would not have anybody to laugh at.

I know very little about politics, as I have previously not cared for it at all, even hated it you could say. I have, however, recently decided to realize the fact that it is part of life weather I like it or not so I might as well learn about it try to enjoy it. This is where these forums will probably help: adding an interesting/comical side to politics. Everyone likes comedy!

I’m generally a fairly care free person, because of this I frequently keep my opinions to myself as most of them are completely inconsequential to anyone and anything. However, on the rare occasion that I feel strongly about something – believe me you’ll know about it – especially if I’ve been enjoying a few not so non-alcoholic beverages. I like to weird out stupid people with double negatives, it’s one of my favorite pastimes.

Over the past few years, I have developed a great interest in the culinary arts and would like to learn much, much more. Food is one of those simple pleasures in life that doesn’t talk back to you unless you’re drunk and there’s a parmigania sitting half a metre from the front of your face. Speaking of drunk… I have a great interest in learning a lot about the different types of alcohol that is available and blah-di-blah-blah… mmm… alcohol.

I eat and drink anything and everything. I think it is important to appreciate good food and beverages from all over the world. Having said that, I have not traveled very far (only as far as New Zealand… I know… that doesn’t count) as at this stage of my life I have not been able to justify the cost as buying a house it very high on my priority list at the moment – I’m sure you’ve noticed that they’re not very cheap.

I’m also very into sport, over the course of my life I have played Basketball, Tennis, Netball, Hockey, Australian Football, Badminton, Volleyball and Soccer competitively at some point. Indoor Soccer is by far my favorite, I am currently playing in 2 teams and I play as the goal keeper for the majority of the time. I like it in goals because I (usually) have very quick reflexes and I am certainly not afraid of pain. Many people would even call me masochistic (including myself at times…).

Contrary to how this post makes me look (sorry for the essay), I’m a very blunt, straight to the point person. I like to keep things short and sweet. Most of the time however, I find that I am too blunt and to the point, I frequently find myself offending anyone that hasn’t met me prior. From what I can tell, most of you people are a bit harder to crack than these other folk that simply can’t handle the truth.

If anyone cares about what I’ve actually done, read on… otherwise don’t waste your time, I’ll tell you straight up that there’s not much interesting going on in my life.

My primary and secondary education was fairly stock-standard so I won’t bore you with that story other than tell you that the subjects I did in VCE were English, Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics, Information Technology, Physics and Visual Communication.

I then did about ¾ of a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering before I decided that it wasn’t really for me so I changed my major to Robotics and took a year off to think things through. Here I am 18 months later, still taking that year off. I’m currently working full time in a hospitality venue. I believe my boss frequents these forums – hello boss man/woman – hmmm… you may well work out who he/she is… you may not… I don’t really care but I’ll leave him/her anonymous for the moment because it’s funny and pointless. I like pointless stuff. I’m really not sure what I want to do with my life but I can see myself going back to university one day to finish off the degree, maybe just part time next year.

 :mrgreen:Anyway, that's about it I think. I look forward to things…………………

Is this an introductory thread or a fucking novel?

I guess some people just like to talk about themselves.

I only have one token of advice for you. American spellings are generally frowned upon around here so from now on it's 'realised' not 'realized'.

Wow. All this and "I like ouchies"?

I think maybe Ankh's jumped the gun a bit too early by going for papabendi...

"Digital logic" eh? Yeah. There's plenty of people round here who are good at "digital logic"

Wow. Ankh REALLY did miss out. Shame that ScienceGuy left, really. You and him could have bonded over gaffa and nippleclamps.

What were your half yearly and yearly results in Year 11? How many As did you get on your report in Year 6?!? Come now - you've told us this much. Don't go dangling the cherry! We care!

Damn. This was going to be the first cool thing you've said in the whole spiel. But now you're "thinking things through?!!?"
Fuck. You need to do an Arts degree with apathy like that, son.

Jesus Tapdancing Christ!

You need a blog, not a forum!

Perti - can you give him a warning for this?  Please?  :|

Anyway, welcome.  If you are as blunt as you say you are, you'll fit right in.  If you're as verbose as you seem, you should reeeeaaallly consider whether this place really provides you the outlet you need.

Nym, by the way.  I'll be in the corner, pretending to study.

Yeah... I'll throw in the "My Bad" on the American spelling... I typed it up in Word because fucking Windows Update was downloading some shit and I couldn't get into the post topic page without it timing out.

Apart from that, all other responses have been replied to in advanced in the topic "Bring it on..."

Waltrow,

Next time you introduce yourself i would recommend leaving your life story for the people who write your eulogy and stick to more conversational topics like "sometimes when i'm alone at night, i touch myself". That's sure to get the punters more interested.

Welcome all the same though  :-)
