Fritz:

What are your thoughts on this matter? Does Jones have a responsibility to ensuring that hatred is not spread by not reading out emails received from readers? Or does he have a right to put it all out there warts and all?
My personal opinion is that I think he is a twat for even considering reading some of the shit he received out, considering that you should have good reason for doing so and maybe consider the consequences of your actions considering you have a major talk back radio station. But I am only one person, however I do question the objective of doing so.
Mez:
Jones was inciting racial hatred.
kathryn:
In year 8 english we had to listen to different shock jocks and give our opinions on their bias and such.
Listening to Alan Jones was awful. That man has a lot bile which he constantly feels that he needs to share. Some of the stuff he said was really xenophobic.
The sad thing is that he constantly wins the ratings for the timeslot he's in.
Which doesn't say alot about the state of Australia given that milions constantly tune in to listen to him ranting.....

Spot on.
Jones has a huge following, particularly amongst people that can't think for themselves and are easily turned towards hatred. Therefore he has a duty to act more responsibly.
The one good thing about the affair is that it has exposed part of our nasty underbelly and that has to be alright.
It was a cowardly way to drum up his ratings.

Ditto. 'Course he was. The people who listen to him and take his word as gospel are utter morons. Fact.
