Well you see the issue for me is not really the whole Religious nutter thing. I was thinking more along the lines of "the lesser of two evils" line of argument. the state liberal party is representative of a corrupt, immoral and dare i say it, evil federal government.

Anyone who endorses and is endorsed by John Howard will NEVER get my vote.

And please, do tell why Howard is so bad?

Has he fucked Australia over?  Are we doing worse since he got into power (and has stayed in power)?

I suspect you're talking out of your arse, since most Lefties can't even tell you why Howard is so terrible.  Rebellion for the sake of rebellion.  There really isn't anything more useless than that.

You can't be serious? Do you really want me to spell it out to you? Do you watch the news?

Well, apart from the children overboard scandal, Tampa, only just now waking up to climate change, the IR, the fuss over the GST, Iraq, not demanding Hicks be tried here like Blair did with his lot, selling various important Australian companies, giving specific permission for the import of Anzac trinkets (you can't bring anything with "Anzac" on it into the country...not sure if NZ stuff, or Canadian stuff from the town of Anzac counts) in time for a sunday paper to give them out at the death of the last Anzac at Gallipoli)...was he involved with the Super hornet thingy?

Yeah the biggy for me was his/our involvement in the illegal invasion of Iraq, thereby plunging said country into civil war and making our own country an even bigger target for terrorism.
You also forgot to mention the scrapping of cross-media ownership laws, the AWB scandal, mandatory detention of refugees seeking asylum in our country, new sedition laws, using taxpayers money to push propaganda on workchoices, scrapping funding to NGO's that have the audacity to question government policy and refusal to ratify the Kyoto Protocol.

Well, I might have put Kyoto as part of the climate thing in general...though Kyoto is a bit of a joke.

I mean, yes many nations promised, but let's see how many actually do.

Yeah I tend to agree that Kyoto is a bit of a joke, and agree that in the overall scheme of things Australia's contribution to global warming is not large, but I still think it can't hurt for nations such as Australia and the US to set an example to countries such as China and India.

Well, yes...although China and India have serious infrastructure building to do, it's not as easy for them.

Yeah the biggy for me was (1)his/our involvement in the illegal invasion of Iraq, thereby (2)plunging said country into civil war and (3) making our own country an even bigger target for terrorism.
You also forgot to mention the scrapping of cross-media ownership laws, (4) the AWB scandal, (5) mandatory detention of refugees seeking asylum in our country, new sedition laws, (6) using taxpayers money to push propaganda on workchoices, scrapping funding to NGO's that have the audacity to question government policy and(7)  refusal to ratify the Kyoto Protocol.

1)I thought we were actually over there helping with the restructure of the economy?

2)Iraq was already embroiled in civil war.

3)But we were still a target? Why was that?

4)Would have happened no matter who was in power. But you could always go down the tree-hugging line and blame him, because you can.

5) As opposed to having them running around all over the country effectively removing the responsibilities of the immigration department.

6)Wow, I thought it was education. You say tomato I say tamato.

7)Those that did sign it, please tell me who actually is sticking to it? Would have been a waste of time signing it.

Somehow the thread "Who's running the state?" has become "Who's running the State?"

At least with the religious nutcases, you know where the knife is going to come from.

Especially if they are Zionists.

Well there's a clearly well formed and logic based rationale....

Anyone who endorses and is endorsed by John Howard will NEVER get my vote.

Guess KRudd loses a vote then.  Is there ANYTHING he hasn't agreed with yet?

As much as right-wingers would have you believe it, Labor are not going to destroy the economy within 3 years. If we don't like the way they fly, we simply switch back. But at least there will be people on both sides of politics who are experienced at running things, not just watching.

You can't be serious?

Well, not when confronted with idiotic rambling posts such as yours, but it has been known to happen.

Do you really want me to spell it out to you?

Yes please.  It will be interesting to see you try to form a rational, coherent argument.  I suspect much mirth will result.

Do you watch the news?

Mmm, yes.

Do you have any idea about critical analysis?
