i made a video on youtube and it was taken down by ABC for plagarism,ALL FOOTAGE WAS MINE. The film, was all mine.
Can anyone enlighten me?

Probly something infringed on some right of theres. YouTube is being more careful lately due to the lawsuit.

Try contact ABC themselves. Or get someone else to post it.

Perhaps host it on Live Video.

If all the footage and the story was all yours, then technically there's no infringement. What was the video about? You should email them.

nope, the only relation AT ALL to the chasers was the words
"war on"

the video was a sound recording of me and my friend going to a guys house and just a slideshow of my art.

If the Chaser mob have patented the phrase "War on...", I'm gonna be really pissed off at them.  I will stop laughing at their jokes, and they shall know my fury ... probably.

Just a random thought: the detecting of copyrighted material is done programatically so there's likely some "trigger" in your clip that set off an alarm bell.

I guess they leave it to the author to protest before any human intervention occurs

Suggest you post it on this site, if it is shit, you will know the reason why it was pulled. If it is not, there are probably a couple of legal eagles on this site that can give Government Solicitors a run for their money. It's hard to tell much without knowing more of the details, but are you sure it was the Australian ABC? A little while ago some of The Chaser's videos that were put up legitimately by either the Australian ABC or The Chaser were taken down as part of a mass purge of stuff from the American ABC. (I think it might have been the footage of the billboards...?)

Is it possible that this is just a mix up along those lines?

We've had problems with this ourselves - not just the billboards clips, even a Tropfest film made by James our editor was taken down!

It's because they're getting sued bigtime in the US. We're trying to do something about it, but no luck as yet.

I actually don't think it's ABC Commercial's fault, entirely.

I think I remember seeing your video, Munch... awhile ago. Was that the one where you guys went and got some revenge on some complete noodle for brains guy that plaigarised your own work who you'd managed to get his address for, and then approached the guy with a "survey" in a Chaseristic style on film? (two thumbs up by the way for having the guts to go and do that! Love your work!)

If so, I remember finding this film amoungst the search results using keywords something very closely resembling "chaser war on everything" or "chaser" or similar, because I was specifically searching for their stuff...
Perhaps anything with those keywords are being automatically smashed at random.

Yeah, that's really smart YouTube!
