LEGENDARY US African-American soul singer James Brown, whose hits included "I Got You (I Feel Good)" has died.

Brown's agent said the musician, 73, was dead, reported the Associated Press news agency.

Brown was influential in the development of soul and funk music and was often referred to as the "Godfather of soul".
