Tux, from memory, the father of the kids in the sound of music was a doctor, but I could be wrong about that, I've never watched it.

They lived in Austria, in the district of Tyrol.

The area is known for  -
- yodelling (a type of singing developed for communicating between echoey cliff faces),
- mountain climbing (hence the traverse and the cliff faces),
- the face slapping dance while wearing traditional costume (why anyone would wear shorts in snow is beyond me. Perhaps they slap each other to start or stop the yodelling),
- and of course, Adolph Hitler!

Read the thread Hammer, ya dickhead!  :wink:  I know all about the district of Tyrol, and am confident that the "Tyrolean connection" has some connection with Tyrol.  I also know that none of the information you have provided gives an answer to my query.

As if my question has to do with an essay - I smash my essays into little pieces with my awesome knowledge and incredible writing skills.

Besides, no educational institution would set an essay about something so pointless (and difficult to answer).

Seems like it's a bit like Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon...

Even though we still don't really have a definite answer on what one is in here, I think my head may make Tyrolean connections quite a lot. Like when it's raining, and I get 'If you like Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain' in my head...
