But is that the sort of example you want to set? If the going gets tough the Mez gets wasted. And Ms. 15 is a teenager. I mean sure I only got to the cubby house when I ran away from home and then stormed back in because no one even realised I was gone... but hey a lot of teenagers think about it. And while I don't think we should necessarily stereotype parents into having to always just not do anything for themselves, I still do think if you bring kids into the world you do need to be a somewhat responsible adult and not be such ethical egotist.

By all means explain your side, I'm not trying to judge I'm just having trouble seeing it.

I dunno, Vis.  I've always found running away from problems to be an excellent solution, so why would I want my children to suffer if they don't need to?

I can see where you're coming from and I'm probably a shit role model but hey, I'm human and just because I'm a parent, it doesn't automatically make me a saint - or a doormat.

If one of my parents ever left, I don't think I could ever forgive them. I understand that they're just human...but they're my parents. They're meant to be there. And if they left I'd feel worthless.

That's bullshit.  I'd probably feel better about myself and my parents if one of them was honest enough to say 'I need some time away because I'm feeling X and I think it will help me right now.'

And yeah, if my parents established some sort of dialogue about it, that'd be easier, but we aren't talking about that, are we?
