I hate John Howard.


I like Mark Latham.


The gap between the two is massive in my books. 2007, Latham will be a chance, despite the election results we just had. Things will be really different and people will have had the chance to get to know him better. Though, it wont be Howard vs Latham. Might even be Abbott vs Latham, wouldnt surprise me. Anyone whos read that book "Latham and Abbott", like me, would like the irony.

Hmm! Well, I reckon we should all strive not to hate anyone.

Sure, we can hate what they stand for, the ideas that the hold and the
philosophies they espouse -- and believe me, I hate so much of
what the modern Liberal Party stands for -- but we must be careful not to
transfer that loathing onto the individuals concerned.

Hate is ultimately such a self-destructive emotion. It festers like an
abscess in the depths of our souls and eventually turns on us, devouring
us and leaving us bitter and heartless.

Well this is true Im afraid.  I neither hate left wing idealists, nor left wing ideaology.  I just think that its a little misguided and irrational ;)
