The Men Who Stare At Goats was one of the funniest books I've ever read. I hold much hope for the movie, and now that Adi's endorsed it, I will definitely go see it.  8-)

I saw the preview for the film while I was in Sydney, and then the next day I read the first couple of chapters of the book in Dymocks, and I was cackling very loudly. I really should read the whole thing. I'm sure the film won't be a let-down, though - it's just so silly!

Great: Stuff. I dunno. My boyfriend's alive, that's a plus. I got a job interview for the easter show after losing the details for another one. I had an awesome anatomy prac today and got to play with brains, that was pretty neat....

Except the stuff brains are fixed with smells absolutely revolting and made me nauseous...

And the stuff they store it in (formaldehyde) makes you hungry...

the anti-football league is a group devoted to being anti-AFL, hence their square ball being red, and one of the winners of the Douglas Wilkie Award was rabid Rugby League fan Wendy Harmer.

I'm 100% behind the Anti Football League :)

Which of course means I despise AFL with every fibre of my being, and tonight is the start of the far superior Rugby League season.

Oh well, I guess you're more discerning than I am.  I hate footbrawl and thugby equally.  :-)

Before you start throwing about those hilarious names implying how violent those sports are, the only time I even came close to being in a fight on a sporting field during my times playing among other things Rugby League, Basketball, Ten Pin Bowling and Golf, was when I was playing mixed netball. Sorry, netbrawl apparently.

Yep, netbrawl.  I detest all competitive sports - I don't even play cards.  Oh well, actually, I do play gin rummy (Marshall's rules) and Scrabble.

Not with Mr Mez though - we are still bickering over a game we had in 1992.

Au contraire, M. Chamberlain.  I am never bored because I read books!

I honestly can't remember ever being bored for longer than it took me to find another book to read.

For someone to win, someone else must lose.  I was born without some of the bones that most people have:

1) a diplomacy bone;
2) a competitive bone; and
3) an intellectual modesty bone.

To make up for it, when the kids want me to do something for them, I cry off with the excuse that "I've got a bone in my leg!"

I am not ashamed of any of my bones (or lack of them).  8-)

Not quite ALL.  And stupidity is relative.  Despite rampant dementia, menopausal forgetfulness and a head full of bongs, I still manage to be smarter than you (it's not hard, I know).

And I've lived a far more interesting and amusing life than you have.

So go ahead - mock me for being old as much as you like but just remember this: one day you too will be as old as I am, if you are lucky enough to live that long. Which you won't, because I'm sure someone will murder you first.  :-P
